May 16, 2009 Opening Day of Fluke Season
The fluke season started today with non-stop action from the moment we dropped our lines. Captain Greg found a large body of fish in the 5 lb to 8 lb range feeding on schools of squid and spearing. The aggressiveness of the fish kept smiles on everyone's face as we easily caught our limit with multiple fish over 7 pounds and countless quality fish released to fight another day. Today's trip gives every indication that this year's fluke season will be one of the best in Montauk history. The action will only get better as the large amount of bait in the area will continue to attract more and larger fluke to the local waters. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to call Captain Greg to book your charter and get in on this amazing action. It's only a matter of time before we land the first double-digit doormat of the year. Maybe you'll be that lucky angler.
